Concept of Food Democracy: the idea of social security for food

On 28 January 2021, a seminar was held with Dominique Paturel on the concept of Food Democracy.

The author of two books recently published lent herself to the game of putting her framework into dialogue with that of Food Justice, as part of the wider Environmental Justice movement. In particular, she presented the basis of food democracy as a systemic approach, i.e. the recognition of a right to sustainable food, based on experiments and initiatives carried out locally and rooted in social justice. It is in this sense that the author favours action research, which has led her to defend the idea of social security for food.
